Hi Beauty Open Me! So as you can tell I am bringing you all a haul from Boohoo, In this haul, I will try each item on to show you how they fit on me in hopes that this helps you in your sizing selection and for fashion inspiration. Boohoo is a UK retailer […]
Hi beauties it’s no secret that I love to shop and the number one question that I get ask would have to be “girl how do you shop so much”? The second question is, “what do I do for a living”? To answer the second question, first I am a stay at home mom so I get paid in hugs, kisses, tea parties and nursery rhymes. Now let’s jump into how I save on shopping and hopefully my tips and tricks will help you save while staying fashionable!
- Shop Clearance and Sale items first.
This rule comes from my mother! This was her rule of thumb growing up and has stuck with me all these years. When shopping, looking at the clearance and sale items first is as natural as breathing for me. There is nothing wrong with doing this it’s is the same company with the same amazing clothes so do yourself a favor and don’t skip on this section at your favorite retailers
- Shop out of season.
I get a lot of pieces out of season that I know will most likely be still something that I will wear the following season. For me the most likely items that I buy out of season are pieces such as blazers, outwear, accessories, boots, handbags, makeup, and scarves.
- Use Promo Codes and Coupons
Shop smart and never shop without first looking to see if there is a coupon or promo code that you can use to purchase whatever your heart desires. That bag that you want is a much sweeter buy if you can take a percentage off, right?! My favorite holy grail app and website is www.retailmenot.com. A basic website search could also lead you to other sites however Retail Me Not is my personal fav. Download it on apple and android devices, it can also be used in store.
- Subscribe and join the stores mailing list
Yes this means that you will get emails quite often, you will also get updates on amazing sales that you may not otherwise know about and special offers that are available only through email subscription.
- Know what items to invest your money and don’t spend a lot of money on basic items
For me this is good shapewear, bras, underwear, outerwear and jeans. I’m a fan, a lover and admirer of shapewear. I like to be smoothed out and tucked in. This is my personal preference and makes me feel more confident in my clothing so I don’t mind investing in items that allows this. Outwear and jeans if simple, chic and well-made will allow you to keep them for a while and not have to buy a new coat or jeans every single year if you don’t have to. Undergarments I don’t mind spending a lot on either but I do so when there is a sale. I ask the store’s staff when the items are most likely to go on sale and aim to shop for the items at that time. Save money on basic items such as your camisoles, basic t-shirts, graphic shirts, try to only purchase these items when they go on sale or if you can find a really good deal.
- Only buy what you can afford
I’m somewhat of an impulsive buyer. So I set monthly budgets for myself and no matter what or how much I want something I refuse to get it if I am not able to work it into that budget. I have a few luxury items (that I have yet to style on my blog). The way I do this is simple whatever is left over from my monthly budget I put into reserve, when I have enough saved up to purchase a more expensive item I then purchase it. This method can be used purchasing almost anything and has worked really well for me.
- Signup for Ebates.
I used Ebates whenever I shop and I get money back on just about everything I purchase online. You may not seem like you are earning a lot at first but trust me it adds up. I was able to do a good portion of my Christmas shopping from money I earned back through Ebates. It’s also how I buy a good majority or makeup that I buy and how I purchase more expensive items. You can click the referral code below to signup if you wish to and begin earning money back on your purchases! I also have installed the google chrome extension for Ebates. This allows me to automatically know when a website is offering cashback on purchases.
